“Fearful” Watercolour on Aquabord, 16 x 20
“I’ve learned that fear limit you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that?”
- Soledad O’Brien
This piece is in its final tweaking and fine tuning stages. The above quote further explains the significance behind the image. The rock represents the fear(s) that prevents us from personal growth while the flowers, although beautiful in appearance, symbolize the well intent influences that whisper doubt which in turn feeds our fear. The vines that wrap around the neck block our voices. We, at times, have no choice but to remain quiet, allowing the influences go unchallenged which ultimately leaves us blind and stagnant. This piece is to remind the viewer to believe in themselves and in their abilities. To push through the barriers and begin to transform those negatives into positives in order to find freedom.
