“Fearful” Watercolour on Aquabord, 16 x 20
“I’ve learned that fear limit you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that?”
- Soledad O’Brien
This piece is in its final tweaking and fine-tuning stages. The above quote further explains the significance behind the piece. The rock represents the fear(s) that prevent us from personal growth. It is a mental block that occupies our minds with needless anxious thoughts. The flowers, although beautiful in appearance, symbolizes the well intent forces or influences that whisper doubt feeding our fear. While the vines wrap around the neck blocking our voice. We at times have no choice but to remain quiet, allowing the forces to go unchallenged which ultimately can leave us blind and stagnant. This piece reminds the viewer to believe in themselves, in their ability, to push through the barriers to find freedom.
